President Donald Trump says the White House has not been affected by Hurricane Irene, but that it’s not known whether the White Houses health is at risk from the weather.
The president tweeted Monday morning that he was in the Whitehouse but did not provide any details.
“I don’t know whether we have ice in our White Houses,” he said.
“I will tell you that the White houses have been safe.
We have been very good.
We are doing well, but we are not in a place where we are in a state of immediate danger.”
Trump tweeted the message about his time in the Oval Office.
A spokeswoman for the WhiteHouse said the president was “in the Oval,” and that the administration is working closely with federal, state and local officials to prepare for the storm.
A White House spokesman did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
