The Louisiana home of the nation’s largest house of correction has been destroyed by a fire.
The fire started in the home’s basement and engulfed the home, which is located in a community of about 1,600 people, Fox affiliate WWL-TV reported.
The house was fully evacuated and crews are working to contain the blaze, according to the local fire department.
It’s unclear how many people were in the house at the time.
The fire is still under investigation.
